Our son began Sff over a
year ago, and we couldn’t be happier with the program! Each
morning as I walk him into school, I see teachers and administrators
genuinely excited to see Addison. He is greeted by name and
given hugs. His day begins with washing his hands, and we
see good hygiene continually stressed and practiced throughout
the day. His Spanish comprehension is amazing. We enrolled
him for the benefit of learning a second language, and we
did not expect to see such a strong academic focus. Our older
son attended a very respected preschool program in California,
which prepared him well for elementary school; however, we
see Addison understanding and accomplishing much more academically
than his older brother did at the same age. Spanish for fun
has exceeded all of our expectations, and we are so glad to
have found it. We recommend it without reservation, and we
plan to continue with the after school programs, once Addie
begins elementary school.

We’ve had both our daughters attending
Spanish for fun preschool 5 days/week. Our younger daughter
is “graduating” from the Spanish for fun this coming May,
and our older daughter, who is now in a Kindergarten at the
Forest Pines Elementary, had been in Ms. Zhandra’s class the
previous year. I hadn’t realize how much the year spent by
Anna Maria at the Spanish for fun influenced her academic
competency at the elementary level until the first parent/teacher
meeting with her present teacher. At the meeting, I learned
that Anna Maria’s reading ability in English had been assessed
as a Grade 2 level!! This certainly came as a surprise to
me because 1) my child is not a gifted child (‘gifted-ness’
just doesn’t “run” in our hereditary traits); and 2) I have
never read to or taught her how to read English. More to say,
we very rarely speak English at home unless we’re in a company
of English-language speakers. Both parents’ native language
is Polish, and we try to cultivate the language in our family.
Therefore, the only logical explanation for that occurrence
is rooted in her exposure to reading in Spanish while at the
Spanish for fun. Thanks to Ms. Zhandra, who was teaching children
how to read, Anna Maria loved reading books for children in
Spanish ( I had to buy all available books in Spanish from
the Barefoot supplier; Oso series was has Anna Maria’s favorite).
And when I came back from that P/T meeting and asked Anna
if she was learning how to read at the Forest Pines, she replied:
“ No, Ms. Zhandra taught me”… I realized then that a value
of education goes beyond a language of instruction. In fact,
the more exposure a child has to foreign languages, the more
flexible (s)he becomes in applying other educational forms
(in this example, reading in English). On a less educational
note, both my kids have enjoyed their time at the SFF preschool.
We had worried how Helena, our younger daughter who was 3
–year – old when she started and had been sheltered at home
until then, would adapt to a school. To my surprise, she fell
in fondness with Ms. Jessica who welcomed her with a hug and
a big smile. I was glad to find a teacher who is genuinely
joyful, energetic, confident with children, and not afraid
to hug when a child needs a hug. Helena was entering and leaving
Ms. Jessica’s classroom with a smile, and so was I. She is
now in Ms. Zhandra’s class, and her experience there is equally
positive.

My son Alex is almost four and has been
going to SFF for over a year now. He is also enrolled there
for his last year of preschool this coming school year. I
chose SFF because I want him to have a bilingual education,
and I could immediately see when I visited how involved and
affectionate the teachers were. They pay him a lot of individualized
attention and always give me details on how he is doing in
class. He has made a lot of progress, and loves to sing the
songs he learns for me. SFF also goes beyond the basics of
vocabulary and emphasizes literacy as well, and Alex has been
very proud of his reading and writing efforts. Their comprehensive
approach to teaching is the most important reason for him
to attend preschool there.

Hola, Our darling Daya is 23 months and
2 weeks old. She has been attending Spanish for fun (SFF)
since she was 10 months old. We chose SFF because we wanted
our daughter to be bilingual. We are so proud that she has
been able to understand both languages for some time. She
adores her teacher which makes it easier for me to have a
peace of mind when I am away from her. Gabby and Claudia are
wonderful and have created a warm welcome environment that
displays a healthy multicultural atmosphere. They are very
caring and committed to our kids. Because of their commitment
and caring hearts, we will continue to allow our daughter
to attend SFF. I wish the entire world could welcome all cultures
with such a wonderful appreciation for each culture. God Bless
SFF.

In addition to wanting my son Steven to
be bilingual, I chose Spanish for fun because of the low student
to teacher ratio. My son clearly enjoys SFF and has learned
a great deal. At 3months old, he was enrolled at SFF; now
at 17 months old he clearly understands and responds to certain
phrases spoken in Spanish. In a world that has gone Global
it is important that he remain at SFF as Spanish is one of
many "educational" tools my husband and I can offer our son.
Once he actually begins talking & writing, learning Spanish
at such a young age can improve his ability to speak and write
English as he will be more conscious of grammar rules. The
staff at SFF is all natives of the language and is receptive
to parent?s ideas, needs and wants. It is refreshing to know
that your child is in an environment where the staff is friendly,
professional and clearly knows each student by name.

Our 4 year old daughter has been attending
Spanish for fun for over 3 years. Introducing a second language
to our child was very important to us and Spanish for fun
provided a great combination of learning, fun, and family
environment in order to best accomplish our goal. Spanish
for fun has become much more than a language class for our
daughter, it is her home away from home. The skills that she
learns during a day at SFF are not only strengthening her
skills in the Spanish language, but she is also able to transfer
the skills over into English. We are amazed at both our daughters
ability to understand and speak Spanish as well as her abilities
to write and read in Spanish which she is able to transfer
into English while at home. But, most importantly, the excitement
and caring expressed by the teachers at SFF is what makes
it such a special place.
